Hi, I'm considering upgrading from my RTX 2060 to something faster without hitting performance limits. The 3070 and 4060 are on my list. Could you share your opinions on which one would work best with my i7-9700K? Thanks!

For which titles are you interested? What resolution do you intend to use?

I often engage in titles like Counter Strike, World of Warcraft, Call of Duty and GTA V with a resolution of 1920x1080 and 240Hz.

I’d match it with an AMD Radeon 6600 or 6700. They perform well for gaming at that resolution.

6650XT suits lower cards well.

Purchase a fresh CPU and continue using your RTX 2060, particularly if you frequently play WoW. Should that not suffice, consider the RX 6700XT or 6750XT.

In that scenario the RTX 2060 falls short

A 6600 offers a budget-friendly upgrade with similar capabilities, though you’ll need to decide whether you need a replacement or an enhancement. The 4060 is costly in most areas because it matches the performance of a 7600 but uses more memory and has less VRAM than its predecessor. The 3070 provides decent results but lacks sufficient VRAM for modern AAA titles. A 12GB card such as the 67x0 XT or 7700 XT would be preferable over the 8GB limit seen with the 3060. If you have the budget, opting for a 4070 or 7800 XT would deliver nearly double the speed of the 2060.

I purchased the 3060 12GB drive and plan to use it tomorrow. I’m hoping it will perform well.
