Looking for guidance on picking the best router for your home?
look at where to start, i just relocated to a new rental in sweden. it’s about 65.4 inches overall, each room has a door, and the walls are all concrete—so running a long internet cable isn’t feasible. the router is placed in a fairly remote corner of the living room. the current model is a TP-LINK TL-WR841N with 300Mbps speed (not ideal, but fine for the time). according to our ISP, we get around 5-20 wireless signals, which makes this setup tricky. we’re sharing the place with my girlfriend, both of us into gaming and streaming lots of movies. we have roughly five devices at home: one ipad, two phones, two computers, and a chromecast. our computer lacks a wireless card, so we need one. i think we should expect 5-8 wireless signals to contend with. i’m trying to figure out what router to buy—preferably one that performs well even when surrounded by many other signals, doesn’t drop connections during streaming, and works smoothly with my current setup. a network card that matches the router would be ideal. what I have in mind: network cards like ASUS PCE-AC56 AC1300 or ASUS PCE-AC68 AC1900, and routers such as the Asus RT-AC68U or similar options. you can share some photos of the apartment later. really thank you, and best regards, Filip S
