Hello everyone, I'm working on installing Wi-Fi in my old house and need help choosing the right equipment. With its thick walls and large space, I worry about weak signals. I haven't tried any routers, extenders, or boosters yet, so I'd love some recommendations on suitable options. Are there specific brands or models that people say perform well in historical homes with solid walls? Also, any tips on placement, antennas, or other methods to strengthen the connection would be helpful. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Brands are limited by physics. I suggest using multiple access points linked to a switch to spread Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, or opting for a mesh network. Asus created an impressive ZenWifi mesh system that I found very useful, just like the Netgear Orbi series. For traditional AP setups, explore Ubiquiti’s Unifi Access Point collection; their U6 Long Range model would be ideal if you need only a few APs to minimize PoE injectors and cabling.
