Looking for guidance on confirming cable detection with USB 2.0 headers?
Hello, I'm trying to manage my fans using the CM Small A-RGB Controller shown below. I learned that to connect it via software, I need to link the micro USB to a USB 2.0 header. I’m considering purchasing a USB 2.0 header and a micro USB cable. Since I checked the B450 Aorus Pro motherboard manual, it mentions a 9-pin USB header instead of the usual 5. Will this still transmit the signal to the controller? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The image provided appears too detailed to interpret accurately, but it seems the wiring configuration may be incorrect. From what you described, the +5V appears on the left while two GND connections are present on the right—this doesn’t align with the standard header layout.
I realize now I rushed through it and missed the pattern. I just focused on the pin number and chose based on rows instead of columns. Sorry for the oversight.
Noted, there are only five pins now instead of the usual block connector, so you might be able to reverse it.
It might work either way. Just make sure the red cable is in the correct position and you're all set.
