I faced a comparable challenge and chose elementary OS. My parents quickly adapted, as they were unfamiliar with computers. They opted for Linux because their old hardware needed lightweight solutions for web browsing and email. While I don’t like the Mac interface, it’s straightforward for beginners.

Sure, I plan to test Elementary OS and Debian the next day. I also have a keen interest in Zorin OS.

If they came from Windows, I’d have recommended Mint. But if they’ve never used a PC, Ubuntu would be a better choice. Are you thinking they’re older folks? It’s surprising to think someone in their 30s, 40s, or even 50s hasn’t touched a computer before.
