I have never posted on here before so please tell me if I am doing this wrong. So I am in a Arma 3 milsim group about 40 players and 50mods and I want to get a stable 60fps when playing cause I usually get around 20-40 when we all do an opp/training together and I am stuck between these two CPUs I7 10700k 389.99cad Or I9 10900k 499.99cad Normally the prices are higher in Canada but there is a sale right now Would the i7 get me 60fps with no dips or should I spend the extra 120 to get the i9 My current set up- https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/nRfj9N

What processor and display card are you using? Simply improving the CPU by itself won’t boost your frame rate by over 33% unless your graphics card is significantly limiting performance.

My GPU is a GTX 1080 while my processor runs an i5 10400f. I also play games at 1080p. Updated April 16, 2021 by mushroomwater

The i5 10400 should handle Arma well. It seems a GPU upgrade might be needed. Your RAM amount matters—FS2020 usually shows better performance with more than 16GB, though it may feel less smooth with higher loads. Running 32GB can reduce stuttering and improve flow in busy areas. You’ve noticed FS2020 can use up to 28GB before, which might relate to memory usage. When using tools like MSI Afterburner or Rivatuner, they typically report your CPU, GPU, and RAM usage in typical configurations.

I own a 32GB SSD (4x8) with 3600MHz clock speed, but I mainly face FPS issues during multiplayer sessions, especially online.

GPU and CPU activity typically remain near 37% for the CPU and 50-60% for the GPU. In Arma 3, only three threads run simultaneously, reaching about 90% utilization.

Your processor or graphics card should easily handle the game.
