Hi, I’m planning to replace my CPU and motherboard. I want something that won’t slow down my 1070, ideally with RGB headers, ATX format, no built-in graphics, and should fit within a $300 CAD budget. I’m not looking for a brand-new setup, just a good value.

Consider Ryzen 3600(x) or 5600(x) models priced around $50–$80 for the equivalent, matching around 70 and 110 CAD respectively. Pair them with a new B450M Pro 4 R2.0, which is currently on used pricing but still new and offers solid midrange performance. This setup lets you upgrade to another 16GB RAM module and run at speeds of 3200–3800 depending on the CPU.
