Hey everyone, a while back I explored my BIOS and adjusted a few options, which significantly boosted my system's performance. Now my nephew pressed the load optimized defaults button, but I’m not sure what settings he changed. Recently I tried restarting with those changes enabled, yet my games are still lagging. If anyone has suggestions on how to speed things up in BIOS, that would be great. I’m not very experienced with overclocking and don’t remember the steps I took last time—last I did was push my CPU to 4.6GHz. I have a Ryzen 5 5600X, an RTX 3060, and use Asus Tuf B550 Plus. Any tips would be appreciated!

Thank you for your question. Lowering the voltage can actually help prevent overheating and extend component life, even if it doesn’t always speed up performance immediately. The relationship isn’t always direct—some CPUs run slower at lower voltages but may last longer. It’s best to test changes gradually and monitor results.

You haven't updated anything recently. Since you usually play Warzone 2 and Valorant, adjusting the CPU voltage should work well for those titles.

That's incorrect. Reducing voltage doesn't increase current; it actually limits the flow. Lowering voltage reduces power output, making it harder to push more current through the CPU. The relationship is governed by the formula P = V × I, where power depends on both voltage and current. Adjusting voltage alone doesn't improve performance unless you also manage heat effectively.

This isn't the way it functions.

The speed at which charge moves is described by current. It’s a fundamental concept in physics, especially when analyzing electrical systems. Understanding how it functions helps clarify the underlying principles.
