Consider timeless titles such as Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Icewind Dale, or dive into Planescape: Torment—the most narrative-focused game I've experienced.

Explore Dust and Elysian Tail for an engaging tale and gameplay. Experience Citizen Kabuto in a classic yet underrated title, join the Insurgency in its tactical shooter mode, face off against Serious Sam Classic in a tough FPS challenge, dive into Shadow Warrior similar to Serious Sam, and try Divine Divinity for a unique action RPG with humor and depth. Don’t miss Original Sin for its complex turn-based combat and cooperative spirit.

I’ll look into each of those options, only knowing planetscape from now on. Thanks a lot! I’m going to explore them all.

Oh yeah... I almost missed that. Give The Longest Journey series a shot—its the first point-and-click puzzle adventure with a solid story. The sequel does a good job, and The Chapters is still being developed.
