You're looking to upgrade your gaming rig with a better CPU. With your GTX 1660 and AMD FX 8120, consider switching to an Intel i5 or i7 if you need more performance for modern games. If you prefer AMD, an Ryzen 5 or 7 would be a solid choice.

What's your spending range? Upgrading the CPU means you'll also need a fresh motherboard and additional RAM. The positive side is that modern components will significantly improve performance over an FX 8120.

Looking for the best deals without spending used. Here are some options:

- Intel Core i3-10100F at 3.6 GHz, Quad-Core, $79.20 with memory (MemoryC).
- MSI H510M PRO Micro ATX LGA1200 board, $89.99 from Adorama.
- Silicon Power GAMING 16 GB DDR4-3200 CL16, $40.97 from Amazon.
- Total for these: $210.16 – a bit more for a quicker build and newer components.

Alternatively:
- Intel Core i3-12100F at 3.3 GHz, Quad-Core, $109.99 at B&H.
- Gigabyte B660M DS3H DDR4 Micro ATX LGA1700 board, $109.99 from Amazon.
- Silicon Power GAMING 16 GB DDR4-3200 CL16, $40.97 from Amazon.
- Total: $260.95

I’d probably choose AMD since they offer a stronger value compared to Intel based on what I understand.
