Looking for assistance with your Ryzen 9 7950X3D?
I’m planning to purchase one for a total of 128 units. I understand that in low-end settings with tight deadlines, smaller numbers like 16 or 32 might suit better gaming needs. However, I also intend to create content—2D projects using CPS, 3D workflows with Blender, video production with VEGAS, and potentially games using tools like RPGMaker or Unreal if I ever get the chance. It’s a bit confusing because each option has different purposes and requirements. While I’m confident most choices will work, this area always feels unclear due to the complexity of hardware and use cases. For manufacturers, G.Skill is something I’ve considered, but Crucial is also a reliable choice. I’m open to other recommendations if needed.
AM5 isn't compatible with quad rank setups, so unless you're absolutely certain you need it, it's best to steer clear of 128GB RAM. If you require more than 64GB, I'd expect around a month for the 48GB DIMMs to arrive in the US and run with 96GB instead. The choice of manufacturer isn't crucial here—Samsung, SK Hynix, or Micron should cover your needs.
Absolutely, I wouldn't increase its speed beyond what's needed. That would overload the memory controller. I just need enough capacity to manage various video formats and Blender tasks without delays.
It reduces the maximum memory speed from 6000MT/s to 4000MT/s which is quite challenging at best. Using 128GB of RAM significantly drops performance by more than a third. The 96GB models are launching soon, already available in Asia from Micron and Corsair, with North America releases on the horizon. If you wait a few weeks, you can obtain a 5600MT/s rated kit and achieve nearly full memory speed.
They appear on Corsair's site, though they're presently unavailable. I anticipate they'll be back in North America soon. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories...M2B5600C40
I'll wait then, assuredly. I wasn't planning to have everything prepared and ready to go until I receive the CPU. Still, I'll consider it. Your assistance means a lot—thank you, and enjoy your day!
