Looking for assistance with your motherboard?
Locating a suitable motherboard would be quite challenging and costly. A fresh platform would be more practical.
sorry i started writing this post when i was sober and then had a bit of a drink and am still in a certain tipsy mindset. most of the info written originally is a little iffy due to that. woudl you think that perhaps my current board should be just fine, pretty much? it kinda doesnt allow for the max speed of the RAM i have currently so theres one contrivance that could get a new motherboard floatin about but i get a feeling even that isnt *that* big an issue.
Verify that your CPU and GPU are operating efficiently. If everything seems fine and you’re not experiencing low performance, upgrading may not be necessary. However, for an upgrade, a Plattform switch is the best option.
If your case isnt using all your mobos usb headers you can get some adapters for usb header to usb that attatches to the rear expansion slots, if all your headers are used there are pcie to usb cards If you would like overclocking capability then either swap the board out or use a ch341a + dupont male -> female jumpers to flash the bios to a z270m mortar via the spi header marked jspi1 that is right above the sata ports and below the chipset heatsink although matching the pinout may be abit tedious (its like a fancy puzzle game), there is no risk as you can reflash the stock bios, you can now no longer worry about bios corruption as you are now immune to it, and you can flash whatever the hell you want on the board, though i should mention that it takes a little while to flash bios on bigger ics, i suspect 16mb will take around 5 minutes considering 8mb chips take around 2 and a half minutes to flash
Lol, the poster had trouble grasping the details about PartPicker. I really think switching to programming isn't going to be easy... no worries for anyone else. Still, I always recommend stepping outside your comfort zone. Most people agree on upgrading the processor and board.
Programming can seem complicated at first, but most people just need to play a puzzle game, download some files, unzip them, and navigate through menus. Unless you have special challenges, anyone can do it. I’m a 15-year-old who codes biosystems and still get confused by adults—probably just a matter of unfamiliarity or nerves. It’s actually much easier than it looks.
Sure, the younger generation tends to absorb new information more easily. I started using my ch34 to fix GPUs and some motherboards, but it was tough on my older mind. Similarly, getting mod drivers worked took me a while to understand the straightforward steps.
