Looking for assistance with USB Wi-Fi on Linux LXDE?
I’m assembling a multimedia PC using old hardware from eBay. I chose the lightweight LXDE Linux platform, which I hadn’t used much before, and purchased a TP-Link Archer T2UH because it advertised Linux support. I managed to download the drivers from TP-Link’s site but am struggling to install them properly.
Which distribution did you use? Did you attempt this? https://askubuntu.com/questions/674116/h...nk-mt7610u
Just to clarify, LXDE is a desktop environment, not your actual distribution. Also, it seems the issue occurred because you mistyped the command, the line should read git clone https://github.com/Myria-de/mt7610u_wifi...130916.git and not just cd.
I attempted to paste the code from the link into the terminal, which initially worked briefly before stopping. After rebooting, I suspect the system may have been damaged, resulting in a corrupted OS. Now I’m unable to boot into the desktop and see a black screen with text.
Capable of starting up the BIOS, I disconnected the WiFi USB and reinserted the Ethernet cable, and now the system is loading the operating system.
