When under heavy load, it adjusts its performance but maintains a more predictable operation. The fluctuations you're seeing are normal for high-performance processors.

Setting your desktop clock to 3518Mhz permanently won't necessarily improve performance beyond what's already available. Performance Boost Overdrive and Core Performance Boost are already active in your BIOS, so changing the base frequency might not yield noticeable gains. AMD Cool N Quiet is also enabled, which helps with noise without sacrificing speed.

This behavior is typical. Clocks will slow when idle to lower power usage. If fans adjust frequently, create a custom profile. From what I've seen, keeping fans at a steady minimum speed and increasing them under real load feels smoother than constant up-and-down changes.

It's actually quite typical for this to occur. Even with temperatures fluctuating between 37°C and 45°C during idle while CPU speeds change, the clocks still vary unpredictably. Thanks for bringing it up, though—I know it can be stressful.

This pattern is normal. With multiple cores, jobs are handled by different processors. When a core finishes, it returns to a lower power mode, which reduces its clock speed and lowers heat. Taking up a job makes that core work harder, raising its temperature. In some cases temperatures can range from 36 to 47°C, sometimes reaching 54°C during file transfers. That’s typical behavior for these chips. Using a large water cooler would make those spikes less obvious because water stores more heat than air. Ultimately, what counts is the temperature when fully loaded. If it stays under 80°C on average, your cooling system works well.
