Hi everyone,
I’m sharing updates about my latest build. It was possible to overclock the rig for better performance. I haven’t assembled a PC in three years, so everything seems fine. The key components are:
- i7-8700k (delidded)
- ASRock B360 Gaming K4
- G.Skill Ripjaws V
- Corsair H100i V2
Previously, I always overclocked these parts, and the BIOS on the K4 behaves differently—changes are set automatically without prompts.
Could someone share screenshots or basic settings to adjust the CPU clock to 5GHZ? The CPU should handle 5GHZ easily, especially with proper cooling and the delidded design. I’d like to keep the core voltage around 1.36V VCORE.
Anyone have the BIOS pages or notes for these components that would help me reach that target speed?
Thanks in advance, though I haven’t found much info online for this specific board and chip.

Sure, the motherboard you pick is decent, but it doesn't support overclocking; you'll need a Z370 chipset board to enable that feature.
