System components: 5900x 3070gaming oc b550 aorus pro ac rev1.1 corsair rm850x gskill royal 3600mhz cl18 32gb. This is my initial attempt at assembling a PC. Turning on the power button causes the RAM to illuminate, but no display appears. After waiting about ten minutes for possible delays, there are no fan spins or other components activating. I’m currently seeing the BIOS flashing in F13 (the most recent version), though I forgot to clear my motherboard before flashing and now it’s been three hours. All fans are running at full speed, but I can still see the GPU and motherboard lights up. Should I power off the PSU to stop it? Could this damage the motherboard or other parts? Any advice on what to do next would be greatly appreciated. Updated: I’ve already flashed F13 BIOS, but the motherboard troubleshooter indicates the CPU/driver isn’t recognized or working correctly. I've never come across a BIOS flash that required over 20 minutes, let alone three hours. It seems unlikely the system is actually updating the BIOS at the moment. Maybe it's just going through its routine operations.
After a long time, I considered turning off the power and swapping parts to try another drive. Obviously, I couldn’t tell your motherboard what’s happening, but three hours for a BIOS update is too long. Before this, I used three different drives during a BIOS flashback on a B550 board before one functioned properly. Like you, I felt anxious about cutting power when it didn’t seem to work, but it turned out okay in the end.
Thanks for the update. The thermal paste came in recently because of the pandemic. I've already updated the BIOS to F13 after cleaning everything, but my board still shows CPU/dRAM issues that shouldn't happen with the new BIOS. This time, my GPU's RGB lights up when I power it on, unlike with the F14d BIOS. Should I consider using an older BIOS version?
Consider removing the battery from the motherboard to reset to factory settings. Check if your CPU is still functional; if not, it might be damaged. Since your RAM isn’t being detected, the issue could lie with the BIOS or hardware. Bringing your device to a shop for testing would help determine if there are deeper problems.
We encountered problems with the F14c BIOS (previously I went back to F13 and everything worked again. Since my issues differ from yours, we can't ensure it will fix it). Please try a different RAM stick and let us know if you see any changes. Hope others can assist further.
