Hello! I'm facing some issues activating the XMP 2 profile with my new memory. The upgrade from the older 16GB to the larger 32GB cards didn't affect it, but now it fails after the upgrade. On the new system (i7 8700K, RTX3080) running BIOS 0602, I can use XMP 2.0 without problems. With the new modules it crashes on startup. I've tried lowering the frequency to 3200MHz manually and even used captures from CPUZ, but nothing works. Could you suggest trying XMP 2.0 at 3600MHz or adjusting voltage settings slightly higher? Also, should I consider updating the BIOS to the latest version? Thanks in advance!

Start with the newest BIOS version. Also verify the voltage settings your motherboard has for VCCSA and VCCIO. The 8700K only fully supports DDR4-2666, which may indicate an insufficient IMC.

Checked the memory level on your board but didn’t validate it with 32GB modules. Consider entering the timings yourself in BIOS to test performance.

Oh yeah, I didn't notice it was 32GB modules. For some reason I saw 16GB upgrade to 32GB, but now I see that the upgrade is to 64GB. In that case, this will be quite a strain on the IMC. So my comment on a "weak IMC" may not be warranted. I have the same recommendation, though. Update the BIOS and check the VCCSA and VCCIO voltages. I doubt it is, but if the motherboard is setting them relatively low, then it might make sense to try increasing them manually. My Z390 Asus board always set them too high, though.

Check VCCSA and VCCIO specifications in your documentation. If you must tweak them manually, you may need to turn off XMP 2. It’s a good idea to start with the latest guidelines.

Scroll down in the AI Tweaker section. VCCSA could be referred to as "System Agent Voltage." You can modify them separately. Disable XMP isn't required. No issues here.

It worked well after updating to BIOS version 2004 (2021). XMP 2 functions properly now, and the system runs at 3600MHZ with C18. VCCSA is 1.408V, VCCIO is 1.328V, and RAM stays stable around 1.35V with XMP 2 enabled. No need to worry about those numbers. Thanks!

VCCSA tends to be a bit too high; I generally suggest staying below 1.35V, with around 1.25V being sufficient for stability. VCCIO works well if it matches or is slightly lower. I'm cautious about lowering them, as it might lead to rare issues that are hard to spot or fix. If you're comfortable with those risks, reducing both to 1.3V or less could help your CPU last longer. Otherwise, don't worry too much.
