Attempting to upgrade my 7600k from 3.8 GHz to 4.5 GHz (possibly five). Checking compatibility with Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. Looking for alternatives like water or air coolers that maintain stable temps at 4.5 GHz, preferably under $100. Also curious about optimal temperatures for long gaming sessions and stress tests.

No problem as in temp would be fine. Idle temp is useless, gaming/stress should be fine at around 1.25V - 1.3V.

Temperature mainly depends on voltage, making the silicon outcome uncertain for achieving 4.5Ghz. Approximately 99.99% of the i5-7600k works effectively at sufficiently low voltages, allowing the CM Hyper 212 EVO to handle it without issues.

BigBoomBoom :
Temperature mainly depends on voltage, making it a silicon chance whether you achieve 4.5Ghz. Roughly 99.99% of i5-7600k can work at low enough voltages that the CM Hyper 212 EVO handles fine.

you won't reach 5ghz with a Hyper 212 evo unless the voltage is extremely low.
