I just tried my first overclock and got the MSI GTX 970 gaming edition to +226MHz core clock and memory clock to +510 on Afterburner without increasing voltage, before the GPU boost reached 1340 core and 2008 memory, which then climbed to 1479 core with the boost. Could you think I could go even further safely by raising the voltage? Also, the temperature in the Heaven benchmark would stay around 67-68 after about 30 minutes. Please let me know if anything seems off, thank you for your feedback!

Your temperature isn't an issue, my 970's reached the 90s during benchmarking (though I don't store them there for more than the time it takes to run a test). You should be okay adding a bit more voltage, but expect higher temperatures during tests. As long as you don't keep them under heavy strain for a long time, everything should be fine.
