I thought overclocking the CPU would help with CSGO performance, but the difference between max and minimum settings was only 5FPS. I wondered if GPU overclocking would make a difference. I followed AMD Overdrive steps, adjusted core multiplier from 37x to 42x, ran a short stability test then extended it to 45x. After that, I restarted and tried again. Once I increased the multiplier to 45x, I got a BSOD, but after turning off the turbo and restarting, it stopped. So am I really stuck with this unit?
Each time you raise the multiplier, you're generating a higher core frequency. You should only increase it in tiny steps and maintain stress for as long as it takes for the temperatures to stabilize.
Verify your current settings when you turn turbo off; they might still be at 45?
