You don't have a specific budget, but this option could help you sell your current PC and earn some cash.

You're aware that a complete reinstall of Windows and all games/applications is necessary, correct? You'll also need to purchase a fresh copy of Windows.

how much time you can afford to wait for the upgrade? the 4000 series refresh seems quite appealing. the 4070 model receives a substantial increase in cuda cores.

for long-term use, i recommend opting for AM5. It would be wise to purchase the new mobo with pcie 5.0 and ssd support, ensuring compatibility with next-gen cpus. aim for a ram module with fast ssd speeds similar to the samsung 980 pro. choose a case featuring a front panel type c, ATX 3.0 power supply with a 16-pin connector.

recommended components:
best cpu for gaming currently
mobo supporting pcie 5.0 and ssd, plus compatible cpus
fast ssd performance matching the samsung 980 pro

case setup:
atx 3.0 psu with 16 pin power connector
adata xpg lancer blade 32gb (2x16gb) ddr5-6000 cl30
storage:
silicon power xs70 2TB m.2-2280 pcie4 nvme solid state drive
priced at £94.99 on amazon uk

other parts:
thermalright peerless assassin 66.17 cfm cooler
gigabyte b650 aorus elite ax am5 motherboard
amd ryzen 7 7800x3d 4.2ghz 8-core processor (£377.99)
cooler:
thermalright peerless assassin 66.17 cfm
nzxt aer p 73.11 cfm 120mm fan

total cost comes to approximately £1000.67, including shipping and applicable taxes.

According to common understanding, if it's an OEM license like with a laptop or prebuilt device, the license won't be transferable to a new PC. However, if the previous license was a retail one, you can move it over. You'd need to log in using your Microsoft account and confirm the old PC for the transfer process.

I'm not overly concerned about the refresh, to be honest. This system is great, but I'd like to consider something a bit more affordable. A 4060 with a slightly cheaper CPU would be fine, even if it wasn't specified. I understand it would be simpler to give a budget, but I'm trying to estimate mine through suggestions first.

from the above list, you can upgrade to a Ryzen 7700 and install a new SSD later. Use your current case. The 7700 costs around 296 pounds. The motherboard and RAM are the most affordable choices, meeting the specs I reviewed (PCIe 5.0 SSD support and 6000MHz CL30 RAM kit). The same applies to the PSU – the cheapest option is an 850W ATX 3.0 PSU with a 16-pin power connector. Depending on your existing CPU cooler, you might also find a compatible AM5 bracket. The main advantage of AM5 is for future CPU upgrades and PCIe 5.0 SSD compatibility. If you don’t mind ray tracing effects, the 6750XT is a good choice.

The decision largely hinges on your budget and the PSU you already possess. An upgrade wouldn't necessarily be wise just yet, as the 4000 series refresh is likely to be similarly expensive.

This configuration would serve as a suitable alternative if you need the Nvidia features in a different model.
If you must include Intel components, the 14000-series is essentially equivalent to the 13000-series.

You should absolutely not have a 4060 ti 16GB. I understand that you are trying to hit a certain price point, but you can do better with last gen AMD at the same price.
