I reside in the United States and am seeking a reliable router featuring additional Ethernet ports on the rear panel. Since you're living with your parents, you'll need a setup that allows routing through them easily. Your budget is around $150. Here are some options to consider:

You’re looking for ways to maintain a stable network link from the router to your computer without laying cables everywhere. You’ve relied on TP-Link products after several attempts at home and with clients. Your concern is about ensuring reliable connectivity, identifying what devices need to be linked, and understanding the issue prompting you to consider a new router.

The router is located in my room and I require additional ports since I'm frequently testing laptops. I struggle to route cables around the house, and the only other router is in the garage, which isn't accessible for cabling. I need about two more ports.

It seems you're questioning the necessity of an extra router when one is already present. Consider using a switch instead for simpler connectivity.

You don't have to invest heavily in a switch for testing laptops. A pricier model offers custom VLANs and advanced networking features. For basic needs, an affordable 5-port switch with 100/1000 speeds is sufficient.
