I shared the same question a few weeks back and still don’t understand the process. A user provided a link with steps → http://www.cnet.com/uk/how-to/how-to-dow...s-8-1-iso/. It’s unclear how using a product key affects its validity after installation. Does canceling it mean you can no longer use it? How do people get an ISO for Windows, especially since I’m hesitant about downloading one? Thanks, Blueprint

In short, using the product key after installation won’t work anymore. The key is only valid for the original Windows 8.1 installation. Once you download the ISO and run it, you can’t reuse the key on a new PC unless you reinstall Windows or obtain a new key.

Ugh, I really can't help you. Just make sure your key stays active even after installation. If the software says otherwise, contact Microsoft directly.
