I found a Samsung 840 1TB and a Seagate 750 (both SATA 6Gb/s). Both have a Blu-ray burned in, runs with stock cooler but struggles at 4.5 GHz. The PS is 850 watts and comes with Windows 10 Pro. I’m curious about the market value for it. No GPU needed; the client used it for everyday tasks and switched to the integrated graphics. What do people think I could get for it? Thanks.
You might be able to save money, but it could use more power than the latest gear. That doesn’t seem fair. I helped manage electronic waste last year—we replaced old CPUs from Gen 7. Back then, anything from Gen 4 or newer was considered e-waste. We refurbished and resold them cheaply.
Limited options available. A CPU lacking hyperthreading in 2022 could be donated to educational institutions, though many schools likely have more recent hardware. Alternatively, consider sharing it with someone who has a legacy Pentium 4 system.
