Looking for an AMD Athlon 2000 processor?

I own an ASUS Prime A320M-K motherboard from 2019 and recently acquired an AMD Athlon 3000G. However, my board lacks the BIOS needed for it, so I require a 2000 series AMD CPU to install the BIOS. Unfortunately, local stores don’t carry any of that. Can you assist?

Are there any nearby repair shops that provide BIOS updates? If not, you may want to return the CPU and opt for an Athlon 200GE. The differences in specifications are minimal, and the main trade-off is losing CPU overclocking capabilities (available only on certain A320 models).

I didn’t have anything similar before, and I’m not sure if you mean to replace the CPU or update the BIOS. Could you clarify what you’re referring to?

Instead of investing in another CPU, consider purchasing a B450 or B520 motherboard for the same cost.

Updating the BIOS usually requires a compatible CPU. If you need to change it, you might want a new motherboard or a new CPU. A used 200GE on eBay could be an option, though I’m unsure about the country and availability. Edited March 30, 2022 by Fasauceome
