I discovered some sellers promoting "complete game accounts" for Battlefield 1 and GTA V at very low prices—just a few dollars. They request an email address, claiming the full game is yours once you provide it. You can choose your own password. But there seems to be something suspicious here. Are they likely scammers? What are your thoughts?

I found a way to get GTA 5 for just five dollars. A few people attempted to reclaim it, but I used Google to track it down and reset my password, linking it back to my email without anyone noticing.

It seems like some individuals are offering their accounts at low prices, hoping to reclaim them via in-game support. A seller charging just seven dollars appears genuine, though it's unclear if they're still active. Many buyers from such offers have faced bans on GTA Online.

There are reports of individuals being compelled to work, including using Minecraft accounts. Many opt to purchase the game at any cost or hold off until it becomes available on sale for reassurance.

I only discuss this from a World of Warcraft perspective. The classic trick involved using exploits to boost a character’s stats to 60, then removing all gear and sending the gold elsewhere—sometimes through money laundering. Sellers often attempted to reclaim the account after a short time if the buyer hadn’t changed their password. Blizzard would usually notice one of these actions and ban the account. The seller ignored it since they no longer had control, and buyers had little chance to appeal because the item was delivered as promised, leaving no way for anyone to complain about an locked account.

This approach appears straightforward. Allowing the publisher to reclaim the account from the buyer. It seems there are many opportunities for these individuals to misuse the system. Appreciate your feedback!
