Link x3? x520? Both options are affordable and work seamlessly with most current operating systems.

Also consider getting an Asus XG-C100F at a good value for money.

Mellanox's MNPA19-XTR works nicely with transceivers from fs.com using CISCO firmware. I've been testing them for some time now. Right now I'm checking the SAN boot features, but if you're aiming for WOL you're in good shape. The Intel X520-DA1 would be a close second, though I haven't confirmed its capabilities yet.

Also known as ConnectX-2? I wouldn’t suggest them for Windows 10 (from my experience). The drivers haven’t been updated since Windows 8, and I’m hoping they’ll stop working when Microsoft makes changes. I believe support begins with ConnectX-3.

Hmn...for avoiding potential future headache should Microsoft roll out an update that bricks support that can be something for OP to decide but I'll say when I was using Windows 10 they worked quite well. But then again that's kind of a risk everybody takes when they take something meant for a server and put it in an environment it wasn't meant for. If it works it works, if it's buggy it's buggy, if it work for a while but then it becomes buggy...well, that's just how she rolls.

I’m likely among the least successful at locating network items... most of what I found came from China or Hong Kong... Thanks for the recommendations!

I plan to utilize transceivers from fs.com, so I'll look into the MNPA19-XTR. Thanks for the suggestion!

Regarding the Solarflare cards, I suggested a few in another discussion. Prices typically range from $30 to $40 plus shipping. Options are available from sellers in the US and Europe, not just China, Taiwan, or Hong Kong at $35.

For example:
- SFN6122F Dual-Port SFP+ 10GbE PCI-E High Profile Server Adapter Card – $49
- SFN7022F 2-Port 10GbE SFP+ PCIe 3.0 Server I/OAdapter Full Profile – $65
- SFN7002F Dual-Port 10GbE PCIe Server Adapter - Low Profile – $46
- SFN7122F Flareon Ultra 2-Port 10GbE PCIe 3.0 Server I/OAdapter – $49

Low-profile versions can often be found on eBay for around $39, while the full-size ones are usually priced higher. The 82599 chipset model is noted as Intel-based; other listings sometimes show cheaper 7xxx series cards.
