It’s clear the CPU is limiting performance. A quad-core processor around the i5 2400 should work well for Fallout 4 due to its multi-threading capabilities. Also, increasing RAM to a minimum of 8GB would help, since I rarely experience usage dropping below that while playing.
I understand Fallout 4 performs well with multiple threads, but I’m limited to using an i3 3240 or 3250 without buying new ones from the used market. Should I consider the 3250 over the AMD options instead of going for an AMD build? I’m mainly focused on gaming performance on this machine, and swapping the socket unless I go AMD isn’t within my budget.
