I’m using 750/750 Mbps with an Asus rt-ac66u, but it doesn’t meet my expectations. Adding Merlin didn’t fix the problems either. I often have to restart it daily because of internet interruptions. My home has Wi-Fi 6 devices, and since I live in an apartment, a mesh setup isn’t necessary. I’m interested in joining the Ubiquiti ecosystem, but it’s currently beyond my budget. Would appreciate some advice on what to purchase instead.

For a comprehensive option, consider the Asus RT-AX86U or the Ubiquiti AmpliFi Alien. I’ve used the latter in a compact apartment and it performs well. You might have missed the Black Friday discount when it was available for less than $300. The AX86U is often priced around $300 or less.
