Your Wi-Fi adapter stopped working after you attempted troubleshooting steps. You tried restarting and reinstalling drivers, but now you're experiencing frequent disconnections every few seconds. Since your router is located upstairs, Ethernet isn't an option. Looking for affordable USB Wi-Fi adapters under $30 would be helpful, along with advice on resolving the connectivity issues.

If you have an extra PCI port, you can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016K0896K/ref=emc_b_5_t

It seems your only PCI port is being hidden by your GPU.

Typically "good" and "USB WiFi" don't naturally align. Generally, anything featuring an antenna and produced within the past few years works well, or at least consider connecting your phone directly.

It seems your motherboard only provides one PCIe port or the GPU is occupying the space of the second slot. In the latter scenario, relocate the GPU to the lower PCIe slot to make room in the upper one. You can also use a PCIe riser cable if you prefer keeping the faster slot available on the board.
