I would decline since the MI 4A employs a SoC Network Processor. It includes an integrated switch (5-port). Gigabit switching generates minimal heat. The overheating issue stems from the WiFi Chipset.

If you're willing to spend more, it might be smarter to wait for WiFi 7, since there doesn't seem to be urgent reasons to upgrade now. WiFi 6e probably suffices while WiFi 6 could work, and WiFi 7 is likely to arrive soon enough. It's often criticized for weak performance because roaming isn't reliable, but with WiFi 7 you'd get the ability to connect across multiple bands at once, making roaming smooth.

You can always wait for "the next big thing" Also yes Multi-Link Operation (MLO) reduces latency but do you need even lower latency than WiFi 6e (which should already be <1ms) The BIG selling point of WiFi 6e and beyond is the 6 GHz Band ! Opens up much more available Bandwidth which is not yet contested also the lower penetrating power is very useful so you won't get interference from neighbors. So ask your self is it worth to Wait for who knows how long to get 46 instead of 9.6 Gbit/s and latencies even lower than 1ms? -> I would say no. WiFi 7 would make sense if you are talking ten's or more users that use network simultaneously, them MLO would shine. But as I understand it you are a home user.

The main advantage of Wi-Fi 7 is its ability to connect to multiple bands simultaneously. This means you stay linked to 2.4 and 5 GHz even when moving beyond 6 GHz, eliminating the need for reconnection.
