Recently my CPU fan failed, so I connected it to the CPU_OPT header until I could obtain a new board. I’m currently using a 3800x on an ASUS ROG Strix B450-F MOBO and was wondering what I should consider upgrading to. After researching many X570 models, I’ve become more cautious about making changes right now. I don’t plan to use SLI or overclock, so I’m unsure if the X570 would be worthwhile. Would an ASUS TUF X570 be a good fit? Also, I’d appreciate any advice on other B450 options. Since I’m unfamiliar with the MOBO component, your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead!

You need to swap out the board due to the fan header issue. This happens when the existing connection isn't suitable for the new setup.

Losing a fan header isn't a big deal, it's similar to giving a pet hamster a broken leg.

The situation is quite severe, you might completely remove all fan connectors and it wouldn't really affect performance much, only that automatic fan regulation would be lost. However, most users still favor maintaining a steady low RPM.

That would definitely make the OP's suggestion look even more absurd!

It would be reasonable to suggest a 4$ fan splitter for any supporter who has lost their role on the board.
