Hello! The device you're referring to is commonly called a modem/router combo. If you're seeking its official name, it's often referred to as a "combination modem and router." Let me know if you need more details!

Internet Gateway options are generally not reliable. Please specify the type of internet connection you use. DSL modems don’t work with coaxial lines, and vice versa.

Since you have a modem and router combined in one unit, routers serve multiple networking purposes. Upgrading software on gateways is usually limited because only your ISP can provide updates for modems on their network. Generally, AIO devices perform poorly—they often have weak WiFi or the router itself is quite unreliable. Using separate devices tends to be more reliable. Modems are typically long-lasting, whereas routers may need replacement every few years. I’ve been using the same cable modem for over five years and updated the router at least twice.

We don't sell routers; we only offer them for sale. If you have any questions about purchasing one, feel free to ask!

I usually throw it out since I keep using it until I run out of space. The only time I changed it was because WPA2 got cracked. I wasn’t sure when DDWRT would release an update to solve the problem, because I had third-party firmware installed on it. It also began having radio problems where the Wi-Fi would suddenly stop working.

Check the specifications, compatibility, and performance features. Ensure it supports your internet speed and network type. Verify firmware updates and security settings.
