Hi, your idea involves setting up speed tiers and dynamic bandwidth sharing. You're thinking about how to allocate the 250 Mbps uplink among three users with different plans. Based on your scenario, you'd want the higher-tier user to receive a significant share of the remaining capacity while ensuring fair distribution for lower-tier users. Regarding coding this directly in the edge router, it's possible but may require advanced configurations or third-party tools. A more robust approach could involve using a router that supports PFSense for better traffic management. Let me know if you'd like guidance on specific settings!

Checked the guides on their site for the edge router. They offer a solid QOS section where you can configure guaranteed bandwidth for clients or networks.

Thank you for your response. I’m not overly concerned about securing bandwidth; my main issue is figuring out how to assign extra bandwidth according to priority. I couldn’t locate any guidance in the documentation on this specific topic.

I don't know of a easy way to do that, but you can set priority for different clients. But also why are you doing it this way? Id do it like most other ISPs, with a max bandwidth you give the user, and have that speed heavily overprovisioned. Most home users very rarely hit their max speed

I recommend sticking to the standard ISP setup. You can offer more benefits without charging extra, as many ISPs provide 10-20% above what users pay. This simplifies things. What size uplink are you currently handling? From what I've seen, a 1 gig link usually costs thousands each month. If you're serious about this, consider prioritizing QoS on the edge router for better performance. It won't be flawless, but it shouldn't be a major problem here.
