I’m searching for a router costing no more than 150 CAD. It should offer robust wireless performance, include antennas (to fix connection drops), and have an intuitive interface with comprehensive features—especially suitable for hosting servers and supporting VPNs moving forward.

External antennas don't necessarily predict strong signals. Enterprise WiFi, for instance, frequently includes them inside since they work better in shared user settings. The speed of your broadband and the specific type also play a role.

I generally wouldn't choose D-Link. Their firmware updates lag behind Asus and TP-Link. My current model is a Dir-846, and I noticed several security vulnerabilities in its firmware. The most recent update was from 2021, which makes it outdated. I think it's best to replace it.
