I'm upgrading my PC after 12 years of using laptops. I have a 1070, 16GB G.SKILL 3200MHz, SSD, and a Ryzen 5600X. I plan to use it for coding, gaming, Photoshop, and I want to boost the Ryzen a bit. Looking for affordable motherboards that can handle a stable overclock. Any recommendations? I’m considering an ASRock B550M-HDV but unsure if it’s solid enough.
The most affordable board with solid VRM performance I've found is the B550M Bazooka by MSI. While it doesn't excel in overclocking, it's priced at just $110 on Newegg.
The board you picked seems quite inexpensive and simple. I suggest opting for something with better VRM cooling, especially if you plan to overclock. You might find an MSI B550 MAG or B550 Pro for $120–150 if that fits your budget. ASRock also offers solid options, but the one you chose is very basic.
