Hi everyone, I recently picked up an MSI M.2 Expander Aero PCIe Gen 4 card at a great price, and I know it's a bit unusual to be looking for an mATX motherboard that can support PCIe bifurcation, but that's what I’m aiming for. Checking the chipset details. The only boards available are servers or TR models, which support X16 in any slot. The best options are X8/X8 Mine, capable of X8/X4 Gen5.

they don’t seem to produce those anymore. what comes to mind are older high-end MX boards like the evga x58 sli micro, probably meant for LAN parties when crossfire was common. it looks like the card requires a full X16 connection, but an X8 PCIe slot isn’t working now—two slots are dead. that explains why it was offered at a low price, mainly for home or server use.

It doesn't matter which chipset you use; it's likely to fit in the main X16 port.
