Looking for a good air cooler for my i7-9700k that can handle overclocks above 4.9GHz?
I'm currently building a PC with an i7 9700k and trying to overclock the CPU above 4.9 without using too much power. I need something around AUD$150 or less, but I can use either AIO (water) or air cooling if needed. I don't want to buy the Noctua DH-15 because it's brown, which clashes with my black PC build. I'm checking if the dark rock pro 4 is worth buying when compared to other coolers like the ML240R at that price point.
Hey there! You're looking at the Dark Rock Pro 4 Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240R with RGB lighting. It comes in a SilverArrow T8 color combo. This build includes some top-tier pieces like Noctua's NH-U14S and Le Grand Macho RT, plus Thermalright's MACHO Rev.C for that extra power. All this gear is under 150AUD on the market. I had to skip Cryorig's R1 Ultimate/Universal because it wasn't out or didn't get great reviews yet.
Hey thanks for the reply, didn't know there was a black one! I'm looking at the price of this but since my money is tight, do you think something else fits under $150 for an i7 9700k? Thanks.
Hey guys! Dark Rock Pro 4 Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240R RGB Thermalright SilverArrow T8 Noctua NH-U14S Thermalright Le Grand Macho RT Deepcool GAMMAXX L240 V2 Thermalright MACHO Rev.C. That covers most of your options under $150 AUD. I left out a few due to availability - Cryorig's R1 Ultimate/Universal especially, and poor review scores.
I need to pick a good CPU cooler for my computer. Here are the top picks:
- CRYORIG R1 Universal model has 76 CFM airflow and costs $119 at PCCaseGear.
- be quiet! Dark Rock TF comes with 67.8 CFM, uses fluid dynamic bearings, and is priced at $139 at PCCaseGear.
- Corsair H115i is a liquid CPU cooler with 104.65 CFM and costs $150 at Amazon Australia.
- Scythe Mugen 5 PCGH edition has just 43.03 CFM but still fits the bill at $138.26 from Amazon Australia.
- Deepcool Gammaxx L360 V2 liquid cooler offers 69.34 CFM and costs $147 at Skycomp Technology.
I did not finish my list, so there are some other options I missed.
