Current setup uses a Ryzen 5 2600 GB with an RX5700XT motherboard, 8GB RAM, and a 2400MHz CPU. I’m playing games for at least four hours a day and occasionally stream. The motherboard is still under warranty, but I’m concerned about its longevity in a hot climate. I’m considering the B450 Tomahawk Max but wondering if there’s a better MSI board available at a similar price or another brand. Also, what chipset would be best for my configuration?
The B450 Tomohawk Max offers a reliable build and good value for money. Unless you plan to switch to the upcoming Ryzen processor next month, it remains a solid choice. If you intend to upgrade your CPU soon, consider the B550 or X570 models.
I concur that I've developed several systems with the B450 Tomahawk boards using the 2600, and they performed well.
I'm looking at the B550A pro from msi. Great board but its mdi and their Rma here is bs. But still what a great product.
