I am planning on building a new system and I ve been waiting for Asus to release their new AM5 mini itx ROG Strix B650E-I because I needed a motherboard that can support the new gen ryzens, DDR5 and can fit in the Fractal torrent nano case. The motherboard was finally release a couple of days ago in my country at the wonderful price of 410€!!!!!! even though the same strix motherboard for intel's cpus costs 270€ which is still expensive but still inside my budget. Do you have any information whether we ll see a drop on the AM5 strix motherboards soon or is this going to be the standard price for this motherboard? It was the first time a case met all my requirements, looks, airflow and build space and I really don't want to go for intel...If only there was a small torrent case that could support micro atx that would have solve my problem but now I simply don't know what to do and I really need a new PC before February... Do you have any other recommendations that would help me? The PC I am planning to build will be using an AMD 7700x.

I just want the torrent compact and a matx board; the main change is a 10cm height difference, but you get significantly better cooling.

I appreciate the slim design of the torrent nano. The smaller version stands taller with greater depth, and I find that 10 cm makes a noticeable difference for me.

Not sure what you're looking for. Are you referring to a specific board or model?

The design of the torrent nano appeals to me, and it accommodates all my needs without compromising on thermal performance. It offers ample room for large fans, keeping the system quiet and efficient. I prefer compact models over larger ones, as they tend to feel stretched out with unnecessary empty space. The Silverstone model is definitely more suitable—it fits the components I need but looks like something best stored away. I’ve invested a lot in building this PC, aiming for both strong performance and a sleek appearance. The scarcity of mid-range mini ITX motherboards is disappointing; only three options at 350, 410, and 600€ are available. I expected Asus to launch a mini Strix in the 250-270 range and order everything right away. Charging an extra 150€ for AMD parts seems unfair.

No one is trying to beat each other, everyone is focusing on fresh ideas. Imagine prices falling a lot compared to the second generation. Most of the Ryzen options were quite alike before.

It's a disappointment... The issue is I can't hold out for the next generation. I'm running a 10-year-old Intel 3770 which is struggling to keep up anymore... In the worst case, if prices don't fall, I'll switch to a different case and motherboard, then sell them once cheaper mini boards are available. My ultimate plan is to stick with Intel...
