I don’t believe PoE will be available on sale soon through Steam based on price trends on SteamDB. However, those popular platforms are quite unreliable and might mislead you. You could end up paying for a $14 key that doesn’t function, forcing you to retry and essentially paying the full amount. It’s better to wait for a genuine purchase.
I don't want to waste 28 dollars on an early game access because soon it will be free like Poe 1. That's why I'm looking for a discounted rate. I believe 14 dollars is a reasonable price for an early game access in my view. Yes, I know at this price I have 300 coins, but for me it feels low since you'll need more coins to buy stuff like stash and other items.
The asking price is for the developer/publisher to decide. If you don't agree with their choice, your only legal option is to not buy at that price. Either wait for a sale or wait for the game to go F2P

Others have mentioned that PoE2 will become available once 1.0 is released. (0.4.0 just came out on Friday). So... probably mid to late 2027 1.0 will be launched? PoE1 remains accessible and is completely free if you're on a budget now. But in the ARPG world... nothing compares to the Path of Exile experience. (1 and 2 are alike yet very different) Worth every penny.
