It's a vintage AMD Phenom X6 system, likely compatible with virtual machines, though I haven't been able to shut down the file server long enough to verify.

You’re able to use WireGuard on that platform, but I’d suggest upgrading for free if you want better security. Still, updating your operating system can be tough since it requires shutting down your filesystem.
