Based on another discussion, it's a Biostar G41D3C with the G41 chipset—considered low-end for its time. It's an entry-level chipset with mediocre VRM and generally cheap, generic BIOS design. It wouldn't handle anything more advanced than the Q6600.

Consider a Core 2 Duo E8600 based on your needs. Or go for a Q9650 for a bit more excitement.
