I altered the left button switch. Once reassembled, the mouse pointer doesn't move on a flat surface but works fine when moved over clothing or skin. What's the problem?

My idea is that the laser (emitter) might now be off-center and angled in some direction. Or maybe the photocell sensor is affected. This means the mouse only functions properly on a curved surface that can reflect light back into the sensor. You might need to reset everything. Also, make sure to clear any dust or debris that could interfere.
