Hi! For your broken HyperX Cloud 2, consider the Logitech G430 or Corsair Void depending on your needs. The G430 offers good comfort and connectivity, while the Void provides a more immersive audio experience. Decide based on what matters most for your gaming setup.

Why not try a different cloud? If you don’t need the cloud, what would you prefer in a headset?

I felt exhausted in the empty spaces of a Best Buy, but they seemed quite cozy. I believe the wireless ones would be interesting. Not sure how they sound.

I’d check out review videos first and then decide. Personally, I don’t like headsets since they often don’t perform well. I use Sennheiser HD 558 Headphones along with a microphone that you can convert into a headset.

I had a really bad experience with the HyperX mic—it would burst and make a lot of noise. I don’t like the latest fancy versions. I think it should be better when it works well for gaming, so sounds clear and the mic works nicely so others can hear me clearly. The cloud just makes a loud hum and isn’t very useful.

They mentioned getting a solid pair of headphones and a microphone for recording.

No way, I’d probably pick up a headset with a microphone.

Yup, headphones with separate mic are ideal. I have Grado open back models plus a Fiio desk mic—it really works well. When choosing gaming headphones, opt for open back designs. They provide a clear soundstage and help you locate sounds precisely. Using an optical or USB DAC with AMP can enhance performance, though it may increase the price slightly. Begin with the headphones and mic, then add more as needed.

Headphones are a topic I’m very familiar with, especially since I mostly purchase Audio-Technica models. However, they tend to come at a higher price point. In the end, choosing the right headset really depends on personal preferences, as tastes can vary widely between individuals.
