A Minecraft account needs to be in one place unless the other device is disconnected. I once used a friend's account for years by keeping my launcher offline, but that was over 12 years ago—so I’m unsure if it’s still functional. Bedrock or Java?

You would just sign into Minecraft when you wish to play it on each computer... unless I'm misunderstanding something here.
