I'm stuck with 0% GPU usage on my MSI RTX 4090. It's frustrating because I've tried everything—updated drivers, checked for frame caps, reinstalled software, restarted multiple times, even used a single monitor. The performance is terrible, and the frame rates are inconsistent in games. My experience is worse than what my brother and friend had with their older GPUs.

Sure, I can help with your problem if you share your 4090 model and confirm you've bought an AMD GPU. Generally, MSI cards use standard Nvidia drivers, so that should work fine. I don’t have the full system details, but it seems your PSU is likely sufficient for power delivery. You mentioned checking cables—make sure they’re secure. Consider installing GPU-Z if you haven’t already. In the sensors section, you’ll find a PerfCap setting, which controls power usage. It’s normal for the card to switch to "Idle" when idle. You can also view "Power," "Frequency," and "Voltage." When playing games, the PerfCap value displayed will change based on performance needs. Try MSI Afterburner to optimize settings and boost power/frequency. Good luck!

Attempted it. Both games had zero usage and listed "None" for the PerfCap setting.

No, I haven't performed any synthetic GPU stress tests.

This appears to be a custom-built system rather than a ready-made setup. The missing sensors seem to be hidden in the top-right menu, but I’m not sure how to bring them back if needed.

PerfCap suggests your GPU isn't the issue—it's likely busy with tasks. The GPU isn't idle; it still has capacity left. Try boosting quality settings, enable DSR and anti-aliasing at maximum, and check if usage improves. Good luck!

Do you have the complete specifications for the system?

I performed a DDU again and reinstalled the drivers once more. It appears to function properly now. It looks like the issue started after a few inconsistent 0% readings, but it’s stabilizing. I’m not sure if it will remain stable for much longer.

Consider accessing BIOS and adjusting your PCIE to Gen 4 unless you're using a riser cable. Opt for Gen 3 if you have it. For PCIe 5 cards, the 4090 model sometimes struggles with link speed negotiation.
