Yesterday I attempted to download a game from the Windows Store, but I had to switch my PC account to a Microsoft account. Now, when I start my computer, I’m forced to log into my Microsoft account and enter my password to access my desktop. It’s quite frustrating. I’m wondering if it’s possible to switch back to a regular account or if I can bypass the lock screen entirely and jump straight to the desktop? Thanks for any advice you can provide.

Navigate to Settings > Accounts and tap Your info. Once you verify the account is configured for a Microsoft account, choose Sign in with a local account instead. Input your Microsoft account password to confirm authorization, then click Next. On the Switch To A Local Account page, provide your new local username, password, and a hint as specified. Proceed to Next to log out from the Microsoft account and return using your local account. (copied from http://www.zdnet.com/article/windows-10-...t-account/)

When I start up now, will it take me straight to the desktop? Thank you!

Instead of repeatedly doing this... try turning on auto-login. Open the settings, go to netplwiz, choose the option that appears, and uncheck the box for asking for credentials each time. Done! Then, for automatic sign-in when your PC wakes: navigate to Settings, Accounts, and select "Never" in the dropdown under Sign-in options. You're all set!
