Hello everyone, I’ve decided to upgrade the Samsung SSD 850 Pro because it’s still functioning well with its precision 7720. I plan to purchase a 512GB NVMe drive to check if it will improve the laptop’s speed. I’ve tried removing the battery and noticed the hard disk bay next to it. Could this bay, which is meant for older hard drives, be the one holding the 2.5-inch SSD in my Dell? Or do I need to open the bottom cover completely to access it?

You need to remove the bottom cover to access the M.2 ports. The adjacent bay near the battery is an older SATA connection.

the ssd in my dell precision 7720 is a samsung ssd 850 pro, and i was informed in this forum that it isn't an m.2 model but rather a 2.5 inch ssd, so where exactly is it placed inside the laptop?
