Loading slowly detected. IPV6 disabled and DNS updated.
Hi there, long-time observer, I see you're dealing with a frustrating problem. My computer (the specs are listed below) would suddenly load web pages slowly. Initially, I brushed it off, but it soon became bothersome. I tested various browsers—Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge, and Opera GX—all encountered the same slowdown. It felt like a DNS problem because it would pause briefly before loading, but on more complex sites it would load parts one by one. For example, the UK National Lottery site would first show default fonts before switching to the correct ones. After some research, a Reddit user suggested IPV6 might be the culprit, so I disabled it. Clearing the cache via Command Prompt seemed to fix the issue. However, about a month ago it returned. I’m considering repeating the steps or trying a Linux dual-boot setup to see if it helps, but my old PC is only two years old and I’ve kept it clean. I’m open to more troubleshooting ideas or a permanent solution. Thanks!
You can reset your network settings in Windows. I've experienced DNS issues after using NordVPN, and the support team recommended this method which resolved the problem for me.
Apologies for the delay—I've been on duty. It looks like this might be similar to a clear cache command, which seemed to resolve the issue. I occasionally use a VPN and have both the Chrome extension and the desktop version of Surfshark. I mainly rely on the Chrome extension, so it probably just needs a reset of my adapter from time to time. I'll keep monitoring it, thanks for your feedback.
